The charges set hereunder are common to all notified Government aerodromes unless advised otherwise.
|

1.1. In the details which follow unless the text otherwise requires-
“ Aircraft weight ” means the maximum permissible weight authorised by the aircraft’s Certificate of Airworthiness;
“ Authority ” means Kenya Airports Authority or such other authority as may be in charge of an Aerodrome.
“ Controlled Aerodrome ” means an aerodrome at which a service is established to provide air traffic control.
“ Financial year ” means one year from 1st July to 30th June inclusive;
“ Normal hours ” means the hours from 0600 to 1830 hours local standard time;
“ Kenya flight ” means a flight both originating and terminating and wholly undertaken in or over Kenya;
“ Operator ” means the person for the time being having the management or control of an aircraft while in Kenya or the registered owner thereof;
“ Test flight ” means a flight undertaken solely for the purpose of testing an aircraft where the authority is satisfied that such testing is genuine and necessary.
“ Landing ” Includes an approach by an aircraft to a runway of a controlled aerodrome whether or not it actually touches down on that runway.

1.2. Government Aerodromes are classified as follows;
Class 1 Aerodromes
- Jomo Kenyatta - Moi - Eldoret
Class 2 Aerodromes
- Malindi - Kisumu - Wajir - Lokichoggio - Wilson
Class 3 Aerodromes
- Garissa - Kitale - Lamu (Manda) - UkundaDiani - Kakamega - Lodwar
Landing fees will be payable as tabulated in the table below;

Helicopter
The landing charge for a helicopter shall be calculated at one-half of the rate applicable to fixed wing aircraft in all respects.
A series of landings made by an aircraft during normal hours, night flight training or night test flight at one aerodrome within a period of one hour shall be charged for as if it were a single landing except for night flying where a special landing fee calculated at the rate of one-fifth of a single normal fee shall be paid in addition.
No fee shall be reduced by reason of any aerodrome service assistance or other facility not being available

2 Parking, Hangarage and Long-term Storage of Aircraft

Where, on the direction of the authority, an aircraft is parked in the open on an area prepared and provided for that purpose and is parked there for more than six continuous hours, there shall be paid a parking fee for each day or part thereof during which the aircraft is parked, calculated as follows:

Private hangars are available. Charges are as agreed with the owner.

Charges would be as determined by the owner of the hangar.

3 Passenger Service Charge
|
Each passenger departing to a foreign country is charged $50 while on domestic flight Ksh. 600
|
|
Aviation security charges may be levied at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International, Mombasa Moi International, Nairobi Wilson, Eldoret International, Malindi and Kisumu aerodromes. The current charges are published in the KAA Tariff Documents

|
7 Exemptions on Landing and Parking Charges
|
|
The Managing Director Kenya Airports Authority may in writing exempt from the liability to pay the charges to owners for the following purposes:
-
Aircraft solely being used for the transport of foreign Diplomatic mission.

Aircraft landing solely for the purpose of Customs, Health, Immigration or Air Traffic Control requirements where;
-
No passenger, freight or fuel are disembarked or taken on.

The exemption is claimed at the time of landing.

State Aircraft of the republic of Kenya
-
Aircraft chartered by the Government of Kenya.
-
Aircraft being used for Government Ceremonial purposes.
-
Aircraft engaged in the Relief, Search and Rescue of persons in distress.
-
Aircraft transporting refugees under the United Nations Organization.
-
Such other aircraft the Managing Director, KAA may exempt.

Where an aircraft lands at a controlled aerodrome out of normal hours or circumstances which require the use of night flying facilities, a special landing fee calculated at the rate of one-fifth of the single landing fee shall be paid in addition to the normal charge.

|
|
Landing charges and parking or hangar charges levied at daily rates are payable at the time the aerodrome is used or, in the case of regular users, on demand at the end of each calendar month in respect of charges accruing during the month. Hangar or parking charges levied at monthly or quarterly rates are payable in advance at the beginning of the period.
All invoices in relation to landing fee are payable within 30 days of their receipt by the operator failure to which an interest of 18 percent is charged.
